Adult Treatment

Today, orthodontic treatment is a viable option for almost any adult.  Adult orthodontic treatment is very common and one in five orthodontic patients is an adult.  You’ll be pleased to learn that orthodontic treatment will fit in with your current lifestyle.

The new techniques and appliances that Dr. Kopuri and his team use greatly reduce discomfort levels, decrease the frequency of visits, shorten treatment time and may allow you to choose from several options.  Your options at Central Florida Orthodontic Specialists include metal braces and translucent braces.  As many of our adult patients would say, it’s never too late to have a beautiful smile!

Imagine the smile you really want - at any age.

Your adult orthodontic problem may still be correctable. That’s because orthodontic forces and braces move teeth the same way for a 40-year-old as a 10-year-old. Dr. Kopuri can help you achieve the straight, attractive, confident smile you’ve always wanted.

Central Florida Orthodontic Specialists offer several esthetically acceptable braces for adults in Central Florida areas.

  • Teeth-crowding

  • Crooked teeth

  • Gaps

  • Overbite, deep bite & buckteeth

  • Space closure

  • Relapse of previous orthodontic treatment

So if you have avoided orthodontic care because you think you’re too old for braces or your smile is beyond help, talk to the team at Central Florida Orthodontic Specialists today!

Types of Braces

1. Metal Braces

Metal braces are the most widely used type of braces. They are very strong and can withstand most types of treatment. Unlike the metal braces of the past, today's metal braces are small, more comfortable and more attractive.

2. Clear Braces

Clear or ceramic braces are made of composite material. They are most often chosen by adult patients because they "blend in" with your teeth. Common drawbacks with the clear braces have to do with the ligatures (tiny rubber bands) that hold the arch wire to the brackets. These tend to stain between visits to your orthodontist.

3. Invisalign

Invisalign are "braces" that consist of strong plastic trays that are fabricated especially for you. Invisalign is for adult patients that have moderate orthodontic problems. Invisalign is truly invisible, no one will know that you are wearing braces.
